Passions

What does finding your “sweet spot” in ministry look like? Imagine it as the intersection of four key areas: your passions, your skills, the needs of your community, and the opportunities to earn a living. Identifying what excites you is the first step, followed by understanding your gifts and skills. Next, consider the needs you feel called to address, and finally, think about how you can be compensated for your work.

These four elements don’t have to come from a single role; they can create a “vocational mosaic” where various aspects of your life come together. It’s also essential to ensure that the environment where you work is healthy and supportive, as the right job in the wrong setting can create struggles. At the Career and Calling Center at Asbury Seminary, we’re here to guide you through this exploration, helping you navigate your passions and how to balance multiple vocations effectively.
