Andrew Peterson

The Power of Stories

Today on the podcast we have Andrew Peterson. Andrew is a recording artist, songwriter and award-winning author of The Wingfeather Saga. He is also the founder and president of The Rabbit Room, which fosters community and spiritual formation through music, story and art. In this episode we talk about Andrew’s journey as an artist, the challenges of being a touring musician and the joy of seeing his children pursue their own art. Andrew also discusses his dream music project and talks about why he loves telling stories and how good stories can illuminate deep spiritual truths and help us understand our own stories. This interview was recorded while Andrew was on campus in November 2023 as part of the Seminary’s yearlong series of Centennial Celebration events.

Recording artist, songwriter, producer, filmmaker, publisher and award-winning author of The Wingfeather Saga, Andrew Peterson is also founder and president of The Rabbit Room, which fosters community and spiritual formation through music, story and art. Known for songs like “Dancing In The Minefields,” “Be Kind To Yourself,” “Is He Worthy,” “Don’t You Want To Thank Someone,” “The Silence Of God,” “Nothing To Say,” “You’ll Find Your Way” and more, Peterson has also been named “one of the foremost singer/songwriters around” and has received multiple “best album of the year” nods from critics along with three Dove Award nominations.

Andrew and his wife, Jamie, have three children, Aedan, Asher, and Skye. In his spare time Andrew keeps bees, builds dry stack stone walls, gardens, draws, and sleeps.
